To further open the dialogue for moms involving conception misconceptions, and the journey into motherhood, I attended an invigorating and educating yoga session at Toronto’s Studio 889 Yoga on Yonge St., for the launch of the First Response™ Prenatal Multivitamin Gummies. Dr. Sony Sierra, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Specialist (REI) at Trio Fertility, came to help us moms uncover the truth behind some of today’s biggest conception misconceptions.
First Response™ is definitely a household name to those trying to start a family. I mean, they are literally with you in every step of your conception, from before, during and after. I know that when I first found out that I was pregnant with my son, the first thing I did was get to the drug store for a pregnancy test. First Response™ is always the brand moms and perspective moms go for, because its well known for its quick results and has a long standing solid reputation. I still remember my First Response™ positive test with the two pink stripes, I’ll never forget that moment. That is why I was so happy to be a part of this informative session with a brand I truly trust and recommend.
Whether you’re a new first time mom, or an experienced mom having gone through previous pregnancies, First Response™ has a product that can guide you through your journey at every step of the way. Which brings me to my next memory, trying to conceive my daughter. When I first got pregnant with my son, it was an unplanned pregnancy, and I was already 6 weeks in when I took that First Response™ pregnancy test. When we decided we wanted to have another baby two years later, I thought, this will be super simple. If I could get pregnant without trying with my first baby, obviously, it’s going to be no sweat for my second baby. I was most definitely misinformed and wrong. After trying for a few months, I realized, “ok, perhaps I’m going to need some help”, so I began tracking my ovulation with the First Response™ Advanced Digital Ovulation Test. I realize that 3 months is not a long time at all when it comes to trying for a baby, but having had our first pregnancy with zero planning, trying for the second felt like an eternity. I was using their ovulation test to track my personal LH levels daily. What’s great is that it indicates when your most fertile days are based on your unique hormone levels. It is over 99% accurate at detecting your LH surge, and when I tell you we got pregnant on the first month using this ovulation kit, I mean it. We were incredibly lucky to have conceived both our babies easily, but as soon as the First ResponseAdvanced Digital Ovulation Test came into the equation, we got pregnant that same month.
I had a strong feeling I was pregnant that month. I just knew it. So of course I once again got my First Response™ Early Result Pregnancy Test, and once again got those two pink stripes. First Response™ for the Shekhter family win!!
Now onto the pregnancy, which is a whirlwind of sheer joy, nausea and crying during a peanut butter commercial, First Response™ has come up with a new prenatal multivitamin gummy that you chew without need for water so it does not feel like a horse pill going down, and is quite easy on the sensitive pregnant stomach, gag reflex and morning sickness.I WISH these were around when I was pregnant a few years ago.
I just ate one and its delicious. Not only are they a prenatal multivitamin, they’re an overall great woman’s vitamin, which is why I will continue to take them, even though I’m not pregnant. The fact that they actually taste amazing, makes them so much more palatable for the queasy pregnant girl, and easier to remember as well. Of course every woman is different and everyone has a unique story. Just like every pregnancy is different, I love that First Response™ caters to us all and encompasses everything before, during and beyond pregnancy.
Attending this prenatal yoga class at 889 Yoga, reminded me of how extra mindful we need to be of our bodies during pregnancy. It was a great body work out, pregnant or not, and after our final stretch, I really appreciated having the question and answer period with Dr. Sierra. My main takeaway was that how it’s not as easy as many of us think it is to get pregnant. There’s about a 1 in 5 chance on average, every month. Especially with the fact that people in general are starting out later in life with marriage and starting a family, its become even more challenging for many couples. I don’t know what so many of us would do without the help of First Response™ and doctors like Sony Sierra who truly help us go on to have the families of our dreams.
It was truly an honour to be a part of this awesome spiritual yoga session and listen to Dr. Sierra uncover many of the conception misconceptions many of us have had.
First Response™ products are available for sale at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, and other national retailers.
